Showtime has unveiled the first of likely many teaser trailers for the third season of the award-winning drama Homeland starring Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, Mandy Patinkin and Morena Baccarin.
The trailer is titled “Signals” and offers just that: a series of muffled communications signals that relate to Brody’s (Lewis) whereabouts. If you recall, Brody’s confession video for his aborted attempt to commit an act of terrorism was aired on television shortly after an actual act of terrorism that he seemingly did not commit. To save her former target and now lover, Carrie (Danes) sent Brody away to hide somewhere through her spy channels of escape from a hazardous situation.
In the trailer who can hear Brody ask someone, “does Carrie know I’m here?” He also says “I just need to get my strength back,” suggesting that his journey to the presumed safe house took a toll on him physically, and he has something he needs to get accomplished rather than sit around and stay off the radar.
A YouTube commenter points out that the final Brody dialogue spoken in Arabic says, “I am a Muslim lost in this world, help me come clean again.” Will Brody be looking for assistance and guidance from Abu Nazir’s followers who carried out the Season 2 finale attack?
The third season of Homeland will focus on the search for Brody as Carrie and Saul try to piece back together their lives, relationship and their team after the tragic events of the Season 2 finale. It is set to premiere on Sunday, September 29 exclusively on Showtime, and personally I cannot wait.
