Find Out When Dollhouse Will Return

EW’s Michael Ausiello is reporting that Fox will bench the remaining promised episodes of Dollhouse through the important November sweeps and return in December with back-to-back episodes on a Friday evening.

Dollhouse has been on the bubble all season with dismal ratings, even after DVR numbers, in its Friday time slot where shows are often sent to die. Hoping to avoid prematurely canceling yet another series, Fox promised the show’s devout fans and Joss Whedon that all 13 ordered season two episodes will air. And they will.

By pulling Dollhouse from November, ironically the name of a doll on the show, Fox is sending out strong signals that season two will be the end. Joss is already preparing for this by offering closure in episode 13, but questions are likely to linger long after the show wraps.

At this point it would take a ratings miracle or another studio such as Syfy to pick up Dollhouse moving forward. Both are unfortunately about as likely to happen as meatballs raining from the sky.
