X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer used Twitter again to announce the latest new cast member to join his mutant adventure, Fan Bingbing.
Singer’s Twitter post specifically included an image of several cast members from the film including Bingbing. She hadn’t yet been attached to the film at the time so it was Singer’s sly way of letting the cat out of the bag.
Bingbing is set to play the mutant Blink, a teleporter like Nightcrawler. Nothing else is known about her role at this time.
While Bingbing may not be a common name in North America, she’s a proven rising star in China having recently appeared in the box office-breaking film Lost in Thailand. Whether intentional or not, Bingbing’s inclusion will make the film more marketable to the huge and growing Chinese market.
X-Men: Days of Future Past drops into theaters on July 18, 2014.
