Online retailer Amazon.com has begun taking pre-orders for the first season of NBC’s Friday night supernatural series Grimm on Blu-ray. The listed release date is August 7, 2012.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has yet to announce Grimm will be getting a Blu-ray release in addition to the inevitable DVD. Given Amazon has a list price ($74.98), it’s looking highly likely the first 22 episodes of Grimm will be joining Blu-ray’s slowly building library of television titles.
Grimm is set in Portland, Oregon and revolves around a police detective, Nick Burkhardt, who learns his ability to see supernatural creatures is part of his family’s lineage. Working together with a reformed “Big Bad Wolf,” Nick is tasked with maintaining the balance between humans and supernaturals. Grimm stars David Giuntoli, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz, Russell Hornsby and Reggie Lee.
Season 2 of Grimm kicks off on NBC later this year.
