Electronic Arts has announced The Saboteur will be released December 8, 2009 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC.
The Saboteur is set in a sandbox world modeled after Nazi-occupied France. It stars Sean Devlin, an Irish race car driver caught behind enemy lines and out for revenge.
The city Sean is initially trapped in will have objectives and action on every corner. Some missions will be on foot, some up high on buildings, and others requiring putting driving skills to the test.
Developer Pandemic Studios has designed a new gameplay mechanic for The Saboteur called “Will to Fight.” This mechanic will change the look of the occupied city from drab to colorful as the game progresses and successful acts of sabotage are carried out against the Nazis. The more colorful the world, the more citizens will feel inspired to fight back.
EA has not offered any information regarding a playable Saboteur demo but we’re holding out hope one shows up sometime in November.
