Today multiple retailers yanked Monsters, Inc. and Rounders on Blu-ray Disc from their pre-order listings. Monsters had been slated for a May 19 release day-and-date with another Pixar hit, A Bug’s Life. Rounders was to come a month earlier on April 14.
Multiple sources have chimed in confirming that not only are these two Disney Blu-ray releases off their respective release dates, but they’ve been pushed back to May 2010. That’s no typo; a full year’s delay.
We have an inquiry into Disney Home Entertainment for direct confirmation and clarification but have yet to receive a response. We may never receive one as the Mouse House might be content letting this delay slip quietly into effect.
Whichever the case, if you had pre-ordered Monsters, Inc. or Rounders on Blu-ray, consider those pre-orders canned.
