Disney and Pixar’s Planes staring the voices of Dane Cook, Teri Hatcher, Stacy Keach, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Garrett performed better than expected at the box office this past weekend, and now Amazon.com has begun taking pre-orders for the Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD versions of the high flying Cars spinoff.
The Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy combo pack version of Planes is proving the most popular right now and has soared to the number four spot on Amazon’s Blu-ray bestsellers chart. It is reasonably priced at $24.49, or 46% off the $44.99 list price, and apparently that price is hitting the right note for consumers that want to lock in their copy ahead of the holiday shopping season.
The Planes Blu-ray 3D combo pack is also performing well having climbed to position five on Amazon’s Blu-ray bestsellers chart. It is priced at $29.99 or 40% off the $49.99 list price.

I don’t have a Planes release date to share just yet, but you can pencil in either late October or early November as the most logical time for Disney and Pixar to deliver the home video versions. I will pass along the Planes release date as soon as Disney announces it.
