When Dexter: Season 6 came to a close, Dex’s sister Deb had just witnessed her non-biological brother, the man she had recently convinced being in love with, plunging a knife into the serial killer Miami homicide was trying to apprehend. He did so not in self defense, but in a calculated manner designed to cover up any physical evidence.
Those in attendance at Showtime’s Comic-Con Dexter panel next month will get to watch the first two minutes of Dexter: Season 7 which picks up at the exact moment Season 6 leaves off. A newly released promotional spot includes some audio snippets from the opening as Dexter says, “Deb, it’s me” in response to Deb’s warning “get away from the body.” Deb can only respond to Dex with “Jesus, Dexter.”
Season 7 is all about “The Truth” that Deb has learned about Dexter, though to what degree we don’t quite know yet. The promotional spot talks about it as well as a new poster with the headline “The Moment of Truth.” Even in this truth I expect Dexter to deliver many more lies.
Dexter: Season 7 premieres Sunday, September 30 on Showtime, followed by the Season 2 premiere of Homeland.
