A lot has gone down in the first two episodes of Showtime’s Dexter: Season 7. Deb has discovered the full-on truth about her brother’s dark passenger and had to choose quickly between turning him in or trying to help him. Miami Metro Homicide lost one of its own, and in doing so, has attracted the attention of the Russian mob. And Dexter managed to walk away from an easy kill that any other day he would have gone through with, except that he promised Deb we wouldn’t.
In the third episode of Season 7, ‘Buck the System,’ a new lady will come into Dexter’s life. Former Chuck star former Yvonne Strahovski will enter the picture as Hannah McKay, the accomplice of convicted killer Wayne Randall who conveniently ended his life in the previous episode by walking into traffic and getting mowed down by a semi-truck.
Batista asks Dexter to take a DNA swab from her mouth, something Dexter has done to suspects countless times in the past. Yet there’s something about McKay that causes his to lose focus and stumble on the first attempt. Is it sexual energy? Detecting another soul with a dark passenger? We don’t know yet, but it should be fun to find out.
Right now everyone is out to either find Dexter – LaGuerta and Isaak Sirko – or fix him i.e. Deb. McKay could be the outlet that Dexter really needs, someone that understands his urges and won’t try to suppress them.
Dexter has never had so many people onto his scent before. With his promises to Deb, it will be very interesting to see how he deals with the encroaching threats.
Dexter: Season 7 episode 75 ‘Buck the System’ premieres tonight on Showtime at 9/8c. I suspect it will be a heavily DVR’d episode considering the season premiere of The Walking Dead at the same time on AMC.
