Showtime’s Dexter panel at Comic-Con was touching yesterday as the cast, both past and present, along with the crew bid farewell to America’s most beloved fictional serial killer. The panel brought tears to the eyes of Jennifer Carpenter, a testament to how important this show has become to those that bring it to life.
I am personally still adjusting to the final season of Dexter airing now versus the fall where all previous seven seasons did. It’s strange to think that the final episode — the series finale — is already in the can, and it won’t be too long until that episode airs.
Showtime used the panel not only to reflect on the series and dodge questions about what’s to come, but to unveil the November 5 Blu-ray and DVD release date for the Final Season and two versions of the Complete Series packaging, each cool in their own way (the Amazon.com exclusive is the “head” set). Both Complete Series sets will include an extra bonus disc with three hours of additional goodies including the new documentaries ‘The Evolution of Dexter Morgan’ and ‘The Code,’ as well as an exclusive Grafix book featuring artwork and photography from 8 seasons of Dexter.
Dexter: The Complete Series Collection starring Michael C. Hall on Blu-ray will span all eight seasons and 25 discs on Blu-ray (33 for DVD). The Final Season on Blu-ray spans 5 discs. Pre-order links for each are below, and I am assuming the price difference between the two Complete Series sets is based upon the packaging.
Pre-order Dexter: The Complete Series Collection on Blu-ray (Amazon Head Packaging) for $381.49 at Amazon.com, 30% off the $544.99 list price.
Pre-order Dexter: The Complete Series Collection on Blu-ray for $300.99 at Amazon.com, 30% off the $429.99 list price.
Pre-order Dexter: The Final Season on Blu-ray for $48.99 at Amazon.com, 30% off the $69.99 list price.
