Fox is bringing back Daredevil in this age of comic book movies and potentially handing the directorial duties over to David Slade.
The new Daredevil movie will be a sequel to the 2003 film starring Ben Affleck but will scrub that film’s cast and star fresh, including Affleck. THR reports that the film’s story will be based on the Frank Miller-written and David Mazzucchelli-illustrated Born Again run of the comic series. In that narrative, Daredevil’s identity is discovered by the Kingpin of Crime who uses it to destroy the superhero’s life.
David Slade is best known for directing 30 Days of Night and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. He was originally in contention to direct Hugh Jackman in Wolverine 2 aka The Wolverine for Fox but that gig eventually went to Black Swan’s Darren Aronofsky.
