In their latest newsletter, Criterion announced they’ve finally embraced Blu-ray and will issue a little over a dozen films as their first Criterion Collection Blu-ray Disc titles this October.
One of the titles, The Last Emperor, will be available in a box set and as a theatrical version standalone release. The standalone release will carry an SRP of $39.95, while pricing on the box set has yet to be issued. According to Criterion, all Blu-ray editions will be priced to match their DVD counterparts.
Another release, Walkabout, will feature an all-new edition of the film with a new transfer, as well as new supplemental materials.
The complete list of titles coming to Blu-ray beginning in October are as follows.

- The Last Emperor
- El Norte
- The 400 Blows

- The Complete Monterey Pop
