Comic-Con: Tyrese Already Talking Transformers 3

Tyrese Gibson is pretty pumped up after having co-starred in both Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. In fact, even though the second Transformers is still playing theatrical, Tyrese was not shy about dishing on the next at Comic-Con.

“Absolutely,” was Tyrese’s response when asked if there would be a Transformers 3 according to Blast Magazine. “It’s in motion,” he added, as if being in the know on Paramount’s long range plans for the franchise more so than Michael Bay.

A third Transformers is a foregone conclusion given the resounding success of Revenge of the Fallen. Michael Bay has already stated he needs a break from robots before thinking about a third, though I’m sure the studio is chomping at the bit to get its flagship franchise back in theaters before it starts to rust under the forecast showers of other studio big robot films including Robotech and Voltron.

Despite Bay’s comments, Tyrese was quick to confirm Bay will be back for a third. “Michael Bay, he definitely needs to take a break from (Transformers), understandably so, but this is the movie — the biggest movie he’s ever directed in his life,” he claimed. “And so, he can keep producing all of these other projects, but he is officially the king of geeks.”

As for Tyrese’s role in a potential third film, the actor feels assured his role will only grow moving forward. “I will absolutely be back,” he beamed. “And my part is going to be bumped up.”

No word on whether Tyrese had been drinking or playfully teasing the media when making these remarks.
