Paramount Home Entertainment has released the full disc specs for Cloverfield on Blu-ray, one of several titles announced by Paramount as part of their return to Blu-ray roll-out plan. We presume these specs are identical to what would have appeared on the Cloverfield HD DVD had it been released in late April.
Cloverfield on Blu-ray will be released on June 3 alongside There Will Be Blood. It will be presented in widescreen 1.78:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.
Exclusive to Blu-ray will be a Special Investigation Mode that uncovers new details about the film while it’s playing. We also noticed in a comparison of the DVD and Blu-ray features that Blu-ray will include 3 additional Easter Eggs, and there will be some sort of connectivity to the Cloverfield official website through the menus.
The full list of supplemental features is as follows, with unfortunately none of them being presented in high definition.
- Special Investigation Mode (Blu-ray exclusive)
- Commentary by Director Matt Reeves
- Document 01.18.08: The Making of Cloverfield featurette
- Cloverfield Visual Effects featurette
- I Saw It! It’s Alive! It’s Huge! fearurette
- Clover Fun featurette
- 4 Additional Scenes
- 2 Alternate Endings w/optional commentary
- 14 Easter Eggs
We’re still waiting for final pricing, cover art and pre-order information, and will certainly pass all along once received.
