Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Live-Action ‘Surprise’ Trailer from Guy Ritchie

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Live-Action 'Surprise' Trailer from Guy RitchieLive-action trailers have become an integral part of helping launch a new Call of Duty game. For this year’s version designed around Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Activision has turned to director Guy Ritchie to bring the “surprises” of the game’s multiplayer weapons to life.

Last year’s trailer put celebrities Sam Worthington and Jonah Hill in front of the camera to promote the franchise’s tagline “there’s a soldier in all of us.” The Black Ops 2 also supports this tagline, but does so in a more creative way without relying on “obvious” celebrity recognition. Though if you pay close attention, you may spot Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr.

“Surprise” refers to being caught off guard in the game by an opponent. The trailer walks through a progression of fighters surprising each other utilizing the game’s many forms of weaponry – big and small. It’s a lot of fun and something that long-time fans of the franchise can relate to, even if they continually moan and groan about a new game each year yet continue to buy them.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has a special pre-order bonus that awards the Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map for free, but you must lock in your pre-order prior to the game’s November 13 release.
