Buena Vista Brings Pirates, More to Blu-ray in 2007

In conjunction with the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Buena Vista Home Entertainment has unveiled a slew of Blu-ray Disc titles we can all look forward to in the coming months.

Headlining the list is confirmation both ‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘ films will go high-def sometime in May, just in time for the ‘At End’s World’ marketing machine to kick into high gear.

Backing up a couple months, Buena will release ‘Chicken Little‘ and ‘Finding Neverland‘ on March 20; ‘King Arthur Director’s Cut‘ and ‘G.I. Jane‘ on April 3; ‘Con Air,’ ‘Crimson Tide‘ and ‘The Rock‘ on June 5; and ‘Cars,’ ‘The Recruit‘ and ‘Open Range‘ sometime this summer, i.e. presumably July or August. ‘Cars’ marks the first Pixar film to bow on Blu-ray, opening what could be a flood of additional titles heading into the holiday 2007 shopping season.

Stay tuned as we track down cover art and disc specs for the March releases.
