MGM has unveiled a September 24, 2012 release date for Bond 50 on Blu-ray, the most comprehensive collection of Bond films ever released in a single package and what will be one of the most sought after Blu-ray releases this holiday season alongside the Indiana Jones Collection and The Avengers.
Bond 50 will include all 22 James Bond 007 films in a 23-disc set. Each film will reside on its own disc with between 1 and 8 hours of bonus features from the previously released Blu-ray and/or DVD editions.
The final disc is where Bond fans should gravitate toward first as it includes three all-new bonus features. First is ‘The World of Bond’ which highlights the best moments in the long-running franchise with pop-up trivia that will test even the most knowledgeable 007 fans’ limits.
‘Being Bond’ looks at the six actors who have brought 007 to life since his first introduction 50 years ago via interviews and clips: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.
Finally there are the Skyfall ‘Videoblogs,’ a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the latest James Bond film currently in production. These are likely the same ones being slowly released via the web.
