An early alert sent to retailers suggests Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the Judd Apatow comedy Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, starring John C. Reilly, March 25 on Blu-ray Disc.
Walk Hard is a spoof of Walk the Line and other musical biographies. Unlike its inspiration, Walk Hard failed to draw big audiences during its theatrical run last month. With a production budget of around 35 million, Walk Hard has pulled in just over half that. Thanks to decent critical and fan reviews, the home video run is poised for a more successful outcome.
As with any pre-announce street dates, nothing is official until formally announced by the studio. Stay tuned for the announcement, disc specs, and high resolution cover art in the days ahead.
