Blu-ray Rise and Shine with The Bank Job’s Saffron Burrows

This week offers the shallowest pool of Blu-ray Rise and Shine contestants we’re likely to see for the remainder of the year. Step Up 2 The Streets, College Road Trip and Shutter all feature young fairly inexperienced talent with resumes to match. Shutter’s Rachael Taylor comes close to eligibility but needs just a little mor experience. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest is a bust, and the Dragon Ball Z double feature is an instant disqualification.

After cleansing the list of those titles we’re left with Lionsgate’s The Bank Job starring Jason Statham and co-starring veteran European actress Saffron Burrows. She has one of those names you know you’ve heard before but can never pinpoint where. From this day forward you can now associate the Brit bombshell with a Blu-ray Rise and Shine selection.

Saffron has starred or co-starred in numerous films since the mid-1980s including names you’ve heard of like Frida, Enigma, Perfect Creature, Wing Commander and Hotel. Most American audiences will remember her best for stripping down to her undies to battle genetically enhanced sharks in Deep Blue Sea.

For Rise and Shine Saffron’s Blu-ray resume is what we’re interested in and she’s built a decent slate with The Bank Job, Reign Over Me and Troy: Director’s Cut, with room to add several more down the road.

Check out some pics of Saffron we managed to scrounge up below and be sure to give The Bank Job a look on Blu-ray Disc, available to ship starting July 15 at Amazon.com.
