Jennifer Love Hewitt had some stiff competition to beat out this week for Blu-ray Rise and Shine honors. With Universal’s Mummy films came dual performances by Rachel Weisz as Evelyn Carnahan during her pre-Oscar career. Kelly Hu sparkled in The Scorpion King and Sony’s other catalog horror titles all offer their share of high-def beauty.
Had any other film in Love’s catalog other than I Know What You Did Last Summer been slated we’d probably pass her over without a flinch. With the first “I Know” comes arguably the pinnacle performance of Love’s career, the first time she stripped down to her undies and screamed at the top of her lungs. Can’t Hardly Wait doesn’t boast those milestones.
I Know What You Did Last Summer marks the first appearance for Jennifer Love Hewitt on Blu-ray Disc. The sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, had been slated for release the same date but was mysteriously pulled for reasons unknown.
Future opportunities for Love to appear on Blu-ray include her current ongoing television show The Ghost Whisperer, the aforementioned I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, The Suburbans, The Tuxedo, Can’t Hardly Wait, Garfield and its sequel Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties.
