Blu-ray Release Rumors: Big Trouble in Little China, Benjamin Button and More

Another batch of Blu-ray Disc release date rumors has crossed our desk with a nice selection of catalog and new theatrical heavy hitters.

First we’ll start with titles attached to a date. On May 5 we’re hearing the magic of Inkheart will battle it out with the reverse aging of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The latter will likely win but both should look and sound great on Blu-ray.

May 12 should see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans sell briskly. Many of you passed on this theatrically but will be first in line to check it out on Blu-ray, myself included.

The following week on May 19 should pit a pair of unlikely heroes against one another. 24 and Jack Bauer will look to makes their long-awaited (and delayed) Blu-ray debut with the release of season seven. Taking a different approach to counter-terrorism, Paul Blart: Mall Cop will seek out more laughs on top of its boffo box office run.

Some other titles we expect to see late this spring or early this summer include Universal HD DVD holdovers Van Helsing and Red Dragon, and Fox will make sure the cult classic Big Trouble in Little China makes its high-def debut.
