I’ve got some new juicy Blu-ray Disc rumors for you this afternoon ranging anywhere from a box office hit to a down under dud.
First up on the rumor list is Dreamworks Animation’s Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa sequel. It could be joining the original Madagascar by making its way to Blu-ray on February 3.
Kevin Smith’s Zach and Miri Make a Porno quietly came and went from the box office. A new unrated cut on February 3 should help offset Madagascar’s kids fare.
Earlier I speculated High School Musical 3: Senior Year would likely land on the same date Disney is releasing the original on Blu-ray: February 17. This date looks to be right on the money with an official announcement due by week’s end.
Poor Nicole Kidman. Her latest big budget flop, Australia, might be taking a shortcut across the outback in its journey to Blu-ray. The date currently being tossed around is February 24.
At least Hugh Jackman has X-Men Origins: Wolverine to fall back on. Nicole has Rob Marshall’s Nine. Advantage = Jackman.
Remember, none of these dates are confirmed by their respective studios and should be considered as nothing more than rumor until if/when we publish an official announcement.
