A little birdie dropped off potential Blu-ray and DVD release dates for the J.J. Abrams sequel Star Trek Into Darkness and Michael Bay’s black comedy Pain & Gain starring Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg.
Before I get into the dates, please remember that these are unconfirmed by the studio and could very well change between now and when the Blu-rays are actually released. Nothing is official until the studio formally announces it.
If the intel is correct, Pain & Gain will arrive first on Tuesday, August 13. That seems like a safe date that avoids the slow month of July and gets a head start on the busier post-Labor Day time for releases.
The Blu-ray and DVD release date for Star Trek Into Darkness that I have is September 10, 2013. Hopefully Amazon.com starts taking pre-orders for this one later this week or next week after it arrives in theaters.
