Blu-ray Celebrates Black History Month with The Color Purple and Malcolm X

Warner Home Video will celebrate Black History Month in 2011 by releasing re-mastered versions of Steven Spielberg’s The Color Purple starring Danny Glover, Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg, along with Spike Lee’s Malcolm X starring Denzel Washington and Angela Bassett, on Blu-ray Disc for the first time.

Both films on Blu-ray will hit stores on January 25 with an SRP of $34.99. They will be packaged in digibook cases that include a 40-page book with production notes and images, and be presented in 1.85:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
