Blake Lively, John Travolta, Uma Thurman and More Join Savages

Director Oliver Stone is on a roll in filling out the cast for his next film, Savages.

In Savages, based on the Don Winslow novel and adapted for the big screen by Shane Salerno, Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson play a pair of Laguna Beach drug dealers with a bit of a problem. Their shared girlfriend O. is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel forcing the boys to concoct a harebrained scheme to get her back.

Within the past 24 hours, several big names have either joined the production or entered into negotiations for a role. Most notable is the likely reunion of Pulp Fiction and Be Cool stars Uma Thurman and John Travolta as O’s mother and a DEA agent, respectively.

The role of O. will go to Gossip Girl and Green Lantern’s flame, Blake Lively. She’ll be under the watch of the cartel kingpin, played by Salma Hayek, and the cartel muscle, represented by daddy-to-be Benicio Del Toro.

Emile Hirsch has also signed on for an unknown role.

Stone is expected to begin shooting Savages sometime this summer with a 2012 release date.
