When Universal Studios Home Entertainment released Battlestar Galactica: Season 4.5 back in July without any of the other seasons available individually they had a plan. Now that plan has come to light.
On January 5, timed to coincide with the first season premiere of Caprica on Syfy, Universal will release the first season (including the mini-series) of Battlestar Galactica on Blu-ray Disc. This season is currently only available in high definition bundled in the complete series set and on the previously released HD DVD. Other seasons are expected to follow at a later time.
Other than the packaging which should mimic season 4.5, the contents of season one will be identical to what is already available. Video will be presented in 1.78:1 1080p and audio in 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The full contents are as follows:
