Warner Bros. has officially begun filming the sequel to Man of Steel and given it an official name: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The filming locations for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice include Michigan Motion Picture Studios; in and around Detroit, Michigan; Africa; and the South Pacific. The first leg of filming taking place today is in Detroit.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in an undisclosed new role created specifically for the film.
As the overly literal Dawn of Justice name implies, the next film in the live-action DC franchise will be Justice League and Zack Snyder is already on board to direct it.
The release date for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a little less than two years away on May 6, 2016, and it will up against Marvel’s Captain America 3.
