Warner Bros. have announced a September 25 release date for Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 on Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet combo pack.
Based on Frank Miller’s four-issue comic book series from 1986 and likely an inspiration for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns sees Batman return after a 10 year absense to rid Gotham City of Mutants that have infested it. Batman teams up with Carrie Kelly, a teenage female Robin, to take on the Mutants, the Joker, Two-Face, and even one of his powerful former allies.
Bonus features on Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 include a sneak peek at the next DC Universe animated movie, a digital comic, Alan Burnett Presents 2 bonus cartoons, and more to be announced.
