Disney’s Bambi has been cleared to make its Blu-ray debut as a new member of the Diamond Collection on March 1, 2011.
Bambi has been digitally restored in high definition and promises to never look better on Blu-ray. Like the previous Diamond Edition Blu-ray titles such as Beauty and the Beast, Bambi will be available in a combo format packaged with the DVD; one version in a DVD case and one in a Blu-ray case. It’s also being called a “limited time only” release.
The Blu-ray version of Bambi will be presented in restored 1080p video and 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
Numerous new bonus features will be joined by all the previously released Bambi DVD supplements. In addition, I’ve included a sneak peek look at a frame from a new deleted scene below as well as the cover art for both packaging versions and Disney’s official Bambi Blu-ray trailer
