Armie Hammer Joins Relativity’s Snow White Movie

Armie Hammer has officially landed the role as Prince Andrew Alcott in Relativity Media’s The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, one of three Snow White projects currently percolating in Hollywood.

Hammer’s breakout role came in last year’s The Social Network where through cinematic trickery he played both Winklevoss twins. Though Hammer didn’t receive award recognition for his work, many – myself included – feel his performance was the film’s best. Currently Hammer is filming Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

Tarsem Singh is already set to direct Relativity’s adult-themed Snow White film based on The Brother’s Grimm version of the classic tale. In the film, Snow White will seek to regain the kingdom her stepmother has stolen with the help of a gang of seven “quarrelsome dwarfs.”

Saoirse Ronan is currently in discussions with Relativity to play opposite Hammer but has yet to sign a deal. Julia Roberts is already locked in to play the stepmother/Evil Queen.

The Brothers Grimm: Snow White will shoot this year and hit theaters on June 29, 2012.
