I was quite happy with last night’s reveal of three character posters for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. As it turns out there is a fourth.
Movies.ie has published an additional character poster of Matt Lucas playing the rotund duo Tweedledee & Tweedledum. This poster joins those of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter has the Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.
Burton completed a 40-day live action shoot late last year and has been working through post production ever since. The extensive digital effects work is expected to continue through 2009 and into 2010 when the film is set to be released in March.
Alice’s return to Wonderland as a 17-year old 10 years after her first visit also stars veteran Christopher Lee as the Jabberwock, Stephen Fry as The Cheshire Cat, mo-capped Beowulf himself Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts, and Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar. My fingers are crossed for character posters of these characters sooner rather than later.
