Columbia Pictures has released the first image of Andrew Garfield in his Spider-Man outfit as he appears in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot movie. By the looks of it the design team nailed the essence of Spider-Man without resorting to any gimmicks.
The new Spider-Man suit is highly textured which you can see better in high resolution by clicking the image below. Given his staring down, got cuts on his face and tears above his Spider emblem, the webslinger may be coming from a good old fashioned butt-whipping.
One potential heated debate amongst comic purists is whether Spider-Man should shoot organic or some sort of artificial web. Look closely at the back of Andrew’s wrists for a little surprise.
Not seen in the image is Spider-Man’s mask which may or may not be in the backpack over his shoulder. In fact, why is he walking around in a Spider-Man outfit sans mask and with a backpack?
Spider-Man is currently in production and set to arrive in theaters next summer.
