Online retailer Amazon.com has slashed the pre-order price of Cloverfield on Blu-ray Disc less than two weeks before it’s release.
Previously Cloverfield on Blu-ray was priced at $27.95, approximately 33% off the $39.99 list price. This is standard Amazon pricing practices for Blu-ray titles.
Sometime within the past 24 hours, an additional $8 was shaved off the price to bring it down to $19.95. That’s a savings of $20.04 off list, or roughly 50%.
Whether this price cut is a temporary promotion to stimulate sales during Memorial Day weekend or a long-term price adjustment remains to be seen. If history is any indicator, Cloverfield will inch back up to its $27.95 price point before its June 3 release.
