2012, Roland Emmerich’s CGI heavy depiction of a global cataclysmic event predicted by the Mayan calendar starring John Cusack and Amanda Peet, blew up at the box office with over $736 million in global ticket sales.
Thanks to an early retailer listing at Amazon.com, we have learned that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is planning to release 2012 on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on March 2.
Disc specifics are unknown at this time but if Sony can hit the same high note struck with District 9 last month, 2012 could be a demo-worthy release worth scooping up. Look for additional 2012 on Blu-ray information to become available in the near future.
