Earlier in the third season of LucasFilm’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars a familiar green-skinned reptilian bounty hunter named Greedo had a starring role in an episode. He won’t be the only character whose fate was sealed in Star Wars: A New Hope to appear this season.
In the February 18 episode of The Clone Wars titled ‘The Citadel,’ Captain Tarkin will make an appearance as a Republic officer. You may (i.e. you better) remember him from episode IV as Grand Moff Tarkin, the skeletal Death Star operations chief who had no issue with wiping out entire civilizations to make a point. According to Princess Leia he apparently smelled bad, too.
The Tarkin reveal at StarWars.com stops short of saying if Tarkin’s appearance is a cameo or a more fleshed out role that plays into the narrative. I’m going to predict the latter considering we already had a cameo at the end of Revenge of the Sith and there’s little point in creating his character model if showrunner Dave Filoni and his animation troops don’t plan on putting it to use.
