The aftereffects of Slumdog Millionaire’s domination at the Oscar’s continues to be felt as its Indian stars find themselves hot commodities in Hollywood.
Casting agents will have to take Anil Kapoor off their rolodex for the time being. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the Bollywood fixture who played the host of Who Wants to be a Millionaire in Slumdug has inked a deal with Fox to be a regular on the upcoming eighth season of 24.
Anil will play a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the US on a peacemaking mission. How he interacts with Kiefer Sutherland and what his ultimate motives are remains a mystery.
The role marks Anil’s first appearance on American television. Given his propensity to act it probably won’t be his last.
