Laurent Cantet’s The Class, winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards, is coming to Blu-ray Disc and DVD on August 11.
The Class stars François Bégaudeau as a Parisian high school teacher in a rough ethnically diverse neighborhood who must deal with students challenging his teaching methods.
Sony is bringing The Class to Blu-ray in its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio in 1080p video with 3.0 LCR (Left, Center, Right) audio in French (Parisian) and English (dubbed).
The Blu-ray edition will feature double the bonus features found on the companion DVD release, all of which are outlined below:
- Making of featurette
- Audio Commentary on select scenes
- Actors Workshop – Rehearsal Sessions (BD exclusive)
- Actors Self-Portraits – The actors self-interview themselves in an exercise to help them find their characters (BD exclusive)
