Holy high-def special edition, Batman! Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced a packed two-disc special edition of the original 1966 Batman movie is coming to Blu-ray Disc on July 1.
The release builds upon what is already becoming a high-def “Bat” month with The Dark Knight hitting theaters, Batman Begins hitting Blu-ray, and the all-new animated feature Gotham Knight also hitting Blu-ray.
Fox will present Batman: The Movie in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Lossless Audio. In addition, Fox will include an isolated score in 5.1 DTS-HD Master Lossless Audio, a first for Blu-ray Disc.
All new supplemental features include a trio of featurettes shot and presented in high definition; a 360 degree navigational tour of the Batmobile; and the aforementioned isolated score in lossless audio. The entire list of features is detailed below.
