One thing The LEGO Batman Movie isn’t afraid of shying away from are obscure characters. Various trailers have shown us a cornucopia of villains only the most seasoned Batman comics aficionados will instantly recognize.
After months of waiting, speculating and searching for leaks that never came, today the LEGO Group officially unveiled The LEGO Batman Movie minifigures line, otherwise known as the latest CMF series. Guess what? It’s got more obscure villains than you can toss a bag full of batarangs at.
There are a couple things you may notice in the group shot above. First, the Red Hood isn’t a dwarf compared to the other minifigures. Chalk that Internet-wide faux pas up to a Photoshop gaffe.
Second, Batman clearly doesn’t only wear black or really, really dark gray as he has led us to believe. He’s got everything from yellow to even pink represented in an extensive wardrobe forever immortalized in plastic.
There’s also 20 figures in this wave instead of the typical 16 in a LEGO CMF series. Yes, The LEGO Batman Movie is apparently that big of a deal.
Starting with the back row and moving from left-to-right we have Mime, Zodiac Killer, Catman, March Harriet, Calculator Man, Commissioner Gordon, Clan of the Cave Batman, Barbra Gordon, Eraser and Glam Metal Batman.
Front row moving from left-to-right are Orca, Fairy Batman, Pink Power Batgirl, Nurse Harley Quinn, Red Hood, Arkham Asylum Joker, Lobster-Lovin’ Batman. Dick Grayson, Pink Power Batgirl, Vacation Batman and King Tut.
