Peter Jackson’s final Hobbit film, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is only six months away and we’ve yet to see a single trailer surface from the film. Rather than leave his fans clueless in the dark, Jackson spoken out about the status the first trailer and when we might finally get to see it.
In a post to Jackson’s Facebook page, the director explains that the first The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies trailer will not arrive until October due to the complex visual effects work needed to bring the epic battles to life. Though the wait for the trailer will continue on, we will get a glimpse sooner rather than later.
Jackson wraps his Facebook update by saying a The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies teaser trailer has been cut and been delivered to Warner Bros. for approval. With any luck we’ll see this teaer trailer online and in cinemas by Comic-Con at the latest.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies arrives in theaters on December 14, 2014. Here’s Jackson’s Facebook post in its entirety:
Thank you all for your responses to my posting about Lorri and Damien’s book. Of course, many of you asked about the Hobbit Trailer. So, yes – there will be a Hobbit Trailer. But like the previous two years, it’s not going to be released until around Oct. The complex VFX work required to produce the battle shots we’re all wanting to see are simply not far enough along yet.
However … yesterday I finished work on a Teaser Trailer and that has just been delivered to Warner Bros. So no doubt this Teaser Trailer will be making it’s way into the world sometime soon…
Cheers,
Peter J
