Motion posters are becoming all the rage in Hollywood social media marketing these days, especially for tentpole action films with flashy imagery easy to utilize in the poster designs. Two big upcoming films have released motion posters over the past 24 hours so I decided to combine them together into a single article and will continue to do so if studios keep cranking them out at a regular rate.
The first motion poster is from Lionsgate’s The Expendables 3 and features franchise star and creator, Sylvester Stallone, lighting one up for a good cause. The Expendables 3 is the first film in the franchise to not be rated R so it will be interesting to see how well that translates at the box office.
Next up are four motion posters from Paramount’s Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles reboot, executive produced by Michael Bay and starring Megan Fox. There’s one motion poster stuffed with scenes from the film for each turtle: Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael.
Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles hits cinemas first on August 8, while The Expendables 3 drops a week later on August 15.
