Star Wars: The Force Awakens Spoilers Surface as Hasbro and LEGO Toy Images Hit Ebay

Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens

We’re exactly three weeks out from Force Friday on September 4, when retailers will put out tons of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens product that many of us will likely snatch up. Retailers, of course, get the product ahead of time, and numerous people have already gotten their hands on Hasbro figures and vehicles from stores that didn’t adhere to Hasbro’s street date.

The first Star Wars: The Force Awakens toy image I ran across was a wide-angle shot from someone who grabbed all 12 3-3/4″ Hasbro figures from Walmart. These figures are of the 5 points-of-articulation (5 POA) variety like the old Kenner figures were and look a little cheap to be honest. Then again that’s probably the idea as kids will be beating these things up something fierce.

Here’s the image from Ebay because, of course, the guys who got these is flipping them for a quick buck. Click to enlarge and get your first look at Constable Zuvio (lower left) and a Resistance Trooper (lower right).

The Constable shares some aesthetic similarities with a Clone Wars cartoon character, the bounty hunter Embo. He’s a cool dude; look him up.

Close-ups of these figures have been hitting Twitter fast and furiously over the past 24 hours as more folks are stumbling onto them sitting on store shelves. Here are some examples:

Too bad Captain Phasma couldn’t get a real chrome paint job. I’m sure a customizer or 100 will take care of that.

More potential Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers come from several Hasbro vehicles that also popped up on Ebay after hitting store shelves early. Take a look at the First Order Snowspeeder from both the Hasbro (via Facebook) and LEGO (via Ebay) toy lines.

The concept of an open-aired speeder has been in the majority of Star Wars films. This is the first time it has been applied to the protagonists so it will take some getting used to. Still, it will be great to see this thing in action on the big screen even if the design doesn’t immediately impress.

Two other vehicles coming in the Hasbro line may or may not end up in the film. The Elite Speeder Bike is a streamlined version of a traditional speeder bike with black and red First Order markings, while the Assault Walker looks like something out of the Clone Wars cartoon. Both of these are similar enough to existing toys from past lines that I’m leaning convincingly toward them filling a price point and not being based on vehicles from the film.

This is just the beginning of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens toy leaks. Expect many more to follow as the weekend plays out.
