Star Wars: The Force Awakens D23 Poster from Artist Drew Struzan With and Without Text

Attendees at the Disney Live Action D23 panel on Saturday were treated to a special going away present. As revealed at the panel’s conclusion, each attendee was given an exclusive Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens poster from famed artist Drew Struzan that will never be sold to the general public.

The idea behind the poster was to give fans a special takeaway that they couldn’t get anywhere else, especially considering they had to stand in line for hours just for a shot to get into the panel that also featured Marvel and Disney films. It was a special gift from director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Struzan’s artwork features Finn (John Boyega) with a lightsaber, Rey (Daisy Ridley) with her now signature staff, Kylo Ren, Tie Fighters and X-Wings, and Harrison Ford as Han Solo. A couple callbacks to the Original Star Wars Trilogy are seen via the steps from the Carbon Freezing Chamber in Cloud City, and a Moisture Vaporator as seen on Tatooine in multiple Star Wars films.

Here’s two looks at Drew Struzan’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens D23 poster, both with and without text.
