Star Wars: Episode VII Millennium Falcon Tumbler Easter Egg Revealed

Star Wars Episode VII Millennium Falcon Tumbler Batmobile

The Force is strong between Star Wars: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams and Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder. We get to benefit from the ongoing playful game being orchestrated between these two Hollywood heavyweights on social media.

Snyder is the instigator in this game by cleverly working Star Wars into photographs from the set of Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice and then sharing them with the world. It started with a Sith version of Henry Cavill and most recently reached a new level of epic geekness with a Stormtrooper being arrested in front of a Gotham City Police Department car and the new Batmobile (seen below).

J.J. Abrams has obviously been following Snyder’s social media antics and finally decided to join the game. He did so in a way that might be “check” and “mate” unless Snyder really comes up with a solid counter move.

The following video is called ‘Hunka Junk’ and was released via the official Bad Robot YouTube channel early this morning. It starts with a camera flyby of the new Millennium Falcon full-scale set, showing all the incredible detail work by ILM that went into the various pipes and obtrusions along the ship’s hull.

Then the camera zooms in on the underbelly of the ship and a familiar shape comes into focus. It’s the Tumbler Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, painted to match the ship’s off-white weathered look and attached to the bottom for a brilliant cross-franchise Easter Egg. My guess is they used the Hot Toys 1/6 scale Tumbler that retails for over $600. Well played, J.J. Well played indeed.

Your move, Zack Synder.
