Fox has released a new X-Men: Apocalypse trailer that gives us our best look yet at the immortal mutant whose awakening in the 1980s will spell doom on earth unless Professor Xavier’s assemblage of powerful mutants can defeat him.
Early in the trailer we get our first look at Apocalypse in ancient Egypt looking more like Oscar Isaac and less like a blue killing machine. Some sort of ritual gives him his signature color and armor, though what powers the ceremony remains to be seen.
After awakening Apocalypse, disappointed with what earth has become, assembles his four horsemen to carry out his destructive wishes. While the X-Men stand up to him, cities will crumble and mutant lives will be threatened, including Mystique whose on the brink of death as the trailer concludes.
Director Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor, and Ben Hardy. It opens in theaters everywhere on May 27th.
