Universal Studios has opened up the official Jurassic World website for business and plastered a countdown timer onto its homepage that will reach zero on Thanksgiving Day. A little two and two math results in the conclusion that the first Jurassic World trailer is a Thanksgiving Day event and we’ll be watching it for the first time in a little over a week.
Right now the website is a one-page affair with the current page temperature and wallpaper that reveals a monorail transport system and a man riding in a futuristic disc that looks plucked right out of the world of Tron. This cool new imagery is accompanied by a variety of various popular dinosaur species silhouettes.
Accompanying the revamped Jurassic World official website is a viral site for Masrani Global, the corporate entity behind Jurassic World. This site traces back the history of how Jurassic World came to be, including the fate of John Hammond, Dr. Henry Wu, and InGen.
Without revealing all the goodies buried within the Masrani website’s text, Jurassic World opened in 2005 after three years of construction. The assumption is that the dino park has been in operation for nearly a decade at the time of the film, especially since the website’s footer includes “© 2014 Masrani” and the company’s investors page references 2013 earnings growth.
The sheer volume of information and praise for Masrani Global’s growth and diversification since its IPO in 2000 tells me that the company’s good fortune is about to take a turn for the worse.

Jurassic World is directed by Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Omar Sy, Katie McGrath, Nick Robinson, Lauren Lapkus, BD Wong as Henry Wu, and Irrfan Khan as Masrani’s CEO. It stomps into theaters on June 12, 2015.
