The first of hopefully many Super Bowl trailers has been confirmed to be booked by Universal Studios and will feature prehistoric creatures on the warpath.
According to ABC News, Universal will be airing a Jurassic World Super Bowl trailer during the big game. If the trailer runs 30 seconds in length than it will set the studio’s marketing budget for the big sequel back a cool $4.5 million. A one-minute spot would cost $9 million.
What we don’t know is whether Universal will recycle 30 seconds from the first and only Jurassic World trailer that was released in November or whether we’ll be privy to new footage. The latter is of course preferred, but studios have gone the recycle route for Super Bowl spots in the past.
If we don’t get new Jurassic World footage from the Super Bowl spot then we can look forward to seeing more from the film in the form of its tie-in toys, including a LEGO Jurassic World line, being revealed at Toy Fair 2015 in February.
Jurassic World is directed by Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and is executed produced by Steven Spielberg. The new park opens its gates for business on June 12, 2015.
