With each passing new sliver of media from Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens released, actress Daisy Ridley is subconsciously heeding the advice of Obi-Wan Kenobi and becoming part of a much larger world. Her scavenger character Rey will be central to the new trilogy’s plot as the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer suggests.
Ridley happened to be on vacation at a bed and breakfast with a friend when the trailer dropped online and set an alarm so she could watch it the same time we all did. While in bed with her trusty mobile phone at the ready, she watched it for the very first time while her friend recorded the reaction.
Thankfully for us, Ridley chose to share that reaction online via Instagram for the world to see.

It’s jolting to see how emotional she gets upon seeing the trailer for the first time. I can’t imagine being in her shoes; a previously relatively unknown actress that’s about to become a key player in one of the greatest film sagas of all time. That genuine reaction complete with tears makes me even more excited to see the finished film when it arrives in theaters on the evening of December 17th.
