Twenty Nine years before the events of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, New Republic forces attacked a holdout Imperial armada on the barren desert planet of Jakku. The aftermath of that battle left the landscape littered with star destroyers and other ships, a mechanical graveyard that will be explored by young heroine Rey (Daisy Ridley) in the upcoming Star Wars sequel.
Whether we’ll see the Battle of Jakku on the big screen as an Anthology entry is a question only future filmmakers can answer. Full immersion in the battle will be made possible via Star Wars Battlefront on Xbox One, PS4 and PC via an expansion battlefield.
