Skylanders SuperChargers Online Multiplayer Racing Gameplay Footage

Gamescom 2015 delivered huge Skylanders news in the form of online multiplayer integration that fans have been clamoring for dating back to Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure. Now that multiple online modes have been announced, let’s take a look at what the online racing component will look like when Skylanders SuperChargers zooms into stores on September 20.

A collection of YouTubers recently spent some time at Activision headquarters in California to take the Skylanders SuperChargers online racing mode for a spin. Or a flight, or even a swim. Below you will find the gameplay footage from one of those races courtesy of Katie Wilson.

There’s definitely some irony at play with Skylanders SuperChargers drawing inspiration from Nintendo’s Mario Kart series and the inclusion of Donkey Kong and Bowser Skylanders / amiibo crossover figures included in the Nintendo Starter Packs. Those two brutes will look right at home racing in Skylanders SuperChargers.

The online modes aren’t all about beating the clock or your opponent’s time. As the video below shows, there are combat modes where the object is to rack up more points shooting things — in this case bees – through three laps on the race track. Katie left quite a few bees unscathed.
